Flappy Bird (Android): I love and hate this game

Game: Flappy Bird
Developer: .Gears Studio

Take one first look and you’ll probably think this game is for kids.

I’m not a big mobile gamer, but when I read this Kotaku article, I got curious. Besides, I’m a sucker for Nintendo-inspired art. I couldn’t resist. So I downloaded the game on my Samsung Galaxy S4, played it for five minutes, and cursed the day I ever heard of this game. It’s so annoying! And then I continued playing.

There’s something about this game that’s very addictive. I mean, it’s so simple. All you have to do is tap the screen — and that’s about it in terms of mechanics and control. A five-year-old can do it.

I don’t know, it just frustrates me whenever the bird dies in the games. It makes me think: if I can’t beat a game made for five-year-olds, what kind of a gamer am I?

Of course, I’m still going to play it, but it’s only a matter of time before I find another addictive game. Games like this are perfect for long subway rides. If there’s a good Android game that you are addicted to, do let me know in the comments below.
